This course is for all personnel who do any lifting, pulling or pushing in their everyday work.
To ensure participants know how and why to lift safely.
Course covers Manual Handling Legislation, The reasons for looking after one’s back, Anatomy of the back, Common back injuries as a result of incorrect manual handling, Biomechanics of manual handling, Manual handling risk assessment and Safe manual handling.
Manual handling demonstration, Back care in everyday life, Exercises and Manual handling assessment of the Participants will also be conducted by the Instructor.
Certificate issued for a period of two years to all successful attendees.
Our professional trainers will:
List the key steps to safe manual handling, provide knowledge on how to assess loads and identify manual handling hazards.
Ensure participants understand the mechanics of the back and understand the legal requirements.
Provide practical demonstrations on the correct manual handling techniques and will highlight the potential risks of injury of ‘lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, putting down or moving a load’ incorrectly.
Ensure all participants understand the need to take into consideration their physical and mental condition prior to lifting, which is an important part of this course.
