Our brief (based on what the Road Safety Authority would expect) is to:
Assess the tachograph compliancy of the company
Instruct management on the correct use of the download system
Instruct management on the correct use of digital cards and of best practice in relation to the storage of analogue information.
The following information will be requested by the auditor for the purposes of the audit exercise:
A list of drivers and copies of the driving licences for each driver employed by the company for any period over the last 12 months.
Registration numbers of the vehicles operated by the company over the last 12 months.
Certificates of ownership of each vehicle.
Tachograph calibration certificates for each vehicle.
Tachograph records for each driver employed by the company including any agency drivers employed over the previous 12 month period (these records must be stored in chronological date order for each driver).
Digital tachograph data in respect of each vehicle unit over the previous 12 month period.
Manual records and information on annual and sick leave records for drivers should also be available for inspection.
Details of the average weekly working time worked by each of the drivers for the past 17 or 26 weeks whichever is applicable to your enterprise.
